Background

The activity of the merlane company, an offshoot of Merlane Consultants, the first company created by Jean-Claude Merlane in 1985, consists of two competency branches:

1978

After a 5-year experience working as a hospital clinician, Jean-Claude Merlane directed several service firms. In 1985, in Toulouse , he created the management consulting group that bears his name. Today the group has offices in Paris , Lyons and Madrid . A specialist in human resources strategy and management with a degree in clinical psychology, psycho-sociology and industrial psychology and an MBA, for 15 years he directed the "Management Consulting Professions" program at the Ecole Supérieure de Commerce (higher business school) in Toulouse . He also teaches in the Executive MBA program at the HEC school in Paris , Toulouse and Madrid , and in Quebec University in Montreal , Deusto University in Bilbao , and Andes University in Bogota.

1980

Beginning of partnership with Shell Pétrochimie Méditerranée in Berre , France (13).

1985

Creation of merlane Consultants in Toulouse.

1990

Majority acquisition of Equation Santé Consultants.

1994

Opening of a merlane Consultants office in Bilbao, Spain.

1997

Opening of a merlane Consultants office in Paris.

1998

Creation of the merlane Group, a holding company, and CEGIFOR (Centre d'Expertise pour la Gestion et l'Ingénierie de la Formation ), a new subsidiary.
Creation of the merlane trademark (INPI registered trademark).
Equation Santé Consultants becomes merlane Santé (SARL).
CEGIFOR becomes merlane Service Formation (SA).
Creation of merlane International in Madrid (SL).

2000

Merlane Service Formation becomes merlane Outsourcing (SA), dedicated to the outsourcing of human resource services.

2002

Opening of an office in Lyons .
Move into a new office in Paris , at 19 rue du 4 Septembre. This becomes a Group office.

merlane International Calle Velasquez moves to Madrid.
International partnership agreements signed in Great Britain ( Bath ), Germany (Frankfurt and Hamburg ), Italy ( Milan ), Portugal ( Lisbon ), Columbia ( Bogota ), and the United States ( Los Angeles ).

2004

On January 1 st , 2004, merger of the three subsidiaries merlane Consultants, merlane Santé, and merlane Outsourcing into a single company: merlane
Consolidation of merlane International accounts with parent company.
Creation of a new visual identity for merlane, now the single trademark.
